Pest control gets easier with a rifle that shoots flat and fast. The Tikka T1x in.17 HMR is a rimfire bolt action built for that. It has a 16-inch threaded barrel, a 10-round magazine and a black finish, and it costs more than most rimfires because of the build quality.

The.17 HMR is a small, fast bullet that shoots very flat out to a hundred yards or beyond. Groundhogs, coyotes at close range, and crows are common targets. It is not the cartridge for deer, so keep it for small game and varmints. Tikka makes rimfires that feel like their centerfire rifles, with the same smooth bolt and a stock shape that fits many shooters.

The threaded barrel gives you a place for a compatible muzzle device. Add a good scope and practice at distance to learn the bullet drop. Check state and local rules before using a rimfire on larger animals. Buy a decent cleaning kit with it and keep the metal lightly oiled.

This rifle is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
