Steyr's THB is an unusual rifle in a market full of standard bolt actions. It is chambered in.308 Winchester, with a 16-inch barrel, a 4-round magazine and a brown finish. The design puts the action and stock in a compact layout, so the rifle is short in overall length for the barrel it carries.

A short barrel makes the rifle easier to carry in brush and quick to use from a vehicle or blind. The.308 gives you plenty of power for deer and hogs inside moderate ranges, and ammo is common. Because the barrel is short, expect extra muzzle blast and some velocity loss compared with a 22-inch barrel.

The THB tends to draw interest from shooters who like something different. It is priced above sixteen hundred dollars, so it is a purchase for someone who wants the design, not just a deer rifle. Check the controls when it arrives, since the layout differs from a regular bolt action.

This rifle is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
