There is a reason 6.5 Creedmoor became popular so fast: it is accurate, mild to shoot and effective on deer. The Savage Axis 2 Pro in full size, with a bronze finish, packs that cartridge into a budget-friendly bolt rifle at just over seven hundred sixty dollars.

The full-size stock fits average adults better than the compact versions. The Pro model brings upgrades over the standard Axis, and you get the Savage AccuTrigger for adjustable pull weight. The bronze finish gives it a distinctive look in a rack of black and green rifles.

A 6.5 Creedmoor can reach well past the distances you normally hunt in the Piedmont and still keep recoil light. It is a nice fit for anyone who also likes to shoot long-range steel at the range. Quality ammo selection is wide, and prices are fair. Mount a good scope and sight in before the season. Think about where it will live and how you will store it safely at home.

This rifle is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
