Savage has a reputation for rifles that shoot better than their price suggests, and the Axis 2 Pro in 400 Legend continues that story. The woodland camo finish helps it disappear in leafy NC hardwoods, and the straight-wall cartridge fits thick-cover deer hunting.

The 400 Legend is a newer cartridge built for hunting where a bigger, heavier bullet at moderate speed makes sense. Think of it as a short-range deer and hog round with serious energy at the moment of impact. The Axis 2 Pro adds the Savage AccuTrigger and a more refined stock compared with the base Axis line.

Camo coverage on the rifle cuts glare and breaks up your outline in a stand or ground blind, though it is no substitute for staying still. Spend time at the range with your hunting load so you know your drop at fifty, one hundred and one hundred fifty yards. This is a no-frills rifle that works. Most buyers find that steady practice matters more than any single feature.

This rifle is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
