.350 Legend was built for states that limit deer hunters to straight-wall cartridges, and the Savage Axis 2 Pro Western handles it. It has an 18 inch barrel and a bolt action with the AccuTrigger.

The .350 Legend delivers decent energy with mild recoil from a short-action rifle. In the thick country of the Carolinas, shots are often under a hundred yards, and a straight-wall round with a heavy bullet is just right. Always confirm local regulations on the cartridges allowed for deer. Wipe it down after wet weather and store it dry, because North Carolina humidity is hard on steel.

The short 18 inch barrel keeps the rifle light and quick, and the Axis 2 Pro line adds upgrades over the base model for a modest increase in price. The AccuTrigger lets you set a light pull for better accuracy.

Put on a low-power scope and zero it at a hundred yards. It makes a friendly rifle for a youth or a smaller adult. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer, where the background check is completed at pickup.
