Left-handed hunters are tired of working a bolt with the wrong hand, and Savage offers a left-hand Axis 2 XP to fix that. This combo is chambered in .350 Legend and finished in gray.

The XP in the name means the rifle comes with a scope already mounted, so you can sight in and hunt without further shopping. That keeps the cost down and the setup simple. The .350 Legend is a straight-wall cartridge that suits states with specific cartridge rules for deer, with light recoil and decent power inside two hundred yards. A little practice every month beats a long session once a year. Spend an afternoon at the range before the season so you know exactly where it shoots.

The bolt handle sits on the left side, so you can run the action with your left hand and keep your right on the trigger side. Savage's AccuTrigger lets you set the pull weight lighter. The package suits a new left-handed hunter and works as a first rifle.

Sight it in at a hundred yards before the season. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer, where the background check is completed.
