Rifle and scope in one box saves time and keeps new hunters from having to learn mount heights and ring sizes the hard way. The Savage Axis XP Combo Compact, model 32025, is chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, and the combo name means it ships ready for the field with optics included.

The compact stock fits smaller frames, including younger shooters and shorter adults. The 6.5 Creedmoor is known for mild recoil and flat flight, which helps a newer shooter learn without flinching. It handles deer, hogs and range practice well, and ammo is easy to find in many choices.

Savage's Axis line is designed for budget buyers who want good accuracy from a simple bolt action. The scope that comes in the package should be mounted and sighted in at the range before you go afield. Spending some time with it at a hundred yards pays off on opening day. Handle it in the store if you can, since fit in the hand tells you more than any description.

This rifle is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
