The.22 Magnum sits in a sweet spot for small game and varmints. It reaches farther than a.22 LR and hits harder, and this Ruger American Rimfire Target is set up for it. You get an 18-inch threaded barrel, a 9-round magazine and a black finish on a bolt-action rifle.

Rimfire bolt guns are quiet in the sense that they are light on recoil and easy to shoot well. The Ruger American line is known for a clean trigger and a dependable feed, which makes it a pleasant rifle for coyotes at a farm edge, groundhogs in a hay field or targets at a hundred yards. The threaded muzzle gives you a place to mount a compatible device if you want one.

Ammo costs more than.22 LR, so many shooters keep a cheaper rifle for plinking and use this one when the shot matters. A good low-power scope is all it needs.

This rifle is new. It ships to your North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer. Confirm any muzzle device rules in your area before you add anything to the threads.
