A rifle that breaks into two pieces fits behind a truck seat, in a backpack, and in a canoe. The Ruger 10/22 Takedown is chambered in .22 LR, has a 16.4" threaded barrel, a 10-round magazine, and a black finish.

For the North Carolina outdoorsman, that is a handy package. Take it to the sounds for a day on the water, pack it into a deer camp, or keep it ready in the barn. Barrel and receiver separate quickly and rejoin, so you can carry it in a smaller case. Practice from a rest and from field positions so your first shot in the woods is not your first shot with the rifle. Wipe the metal down after damp mornings and keep the bore clean, and a rifle like this can last for generations.

Because it is a .22, the cost per round is low and the noise is modest. That makes it a good teacher and a good rifle for small game. The threaded muzzle lets you add a compatible muzzle device if you choose to, where the law allows.

New condition. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer you choose for pickup and the background check.
