Walnut, blued steel and a controlled-feel bolt: that is what many hunters picture when they think of a proper deer rifle. The Kimber Classic Select 84L chambers the.30-06 Springfield, the cartridge that has taken everything from whitetail to elk for more than a century.

The 84L is the long-action version of Kimber's lightweight hunting rifle, which means it is made to hold cartridges the size of the.30-06. The blued finish gives it a traditional look and a bit of glare resistance. Kimber built its reputation on light, trim rifles, so this one should carry well on a mountain hike or across a Piedmont cutover.

The.30-06 offers a huge range of loads, from lighter bullets for deer to heavier for larger game, and ammo is in nearly every store in North Carolina. It is a straight, honest choice for someone who wants one rifle for many hunts. Put a quality scope on it and you have an heirloom piece.

This rifle is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
