Christensen Arms builds lightweight rifles with carbon fiber, and the Evoke is its approachable hunting line. This one is chambered in 7mm Backcountry, has a 20-inch barrel, a 4-round magazine and a green and bronze finish.

The 7mm Backcountry is a hunting cartridge meant for use in shorter-barreled rifles, and it aims to give good speed without a long tube. That fits the Evoke well, since a 20-inch barrel is easy to carry in the hills of western North Carolina or on a long hike out west. Ammo is not as common as.308, so buy a few boxes while you can find them.

The color scheme gives the rifle a look that blends into early-season woods. For the price, near twelve hundred dollars, the Evoke gives you a name-brand rifle with strong accuracy and light carry weight. Sight it in with your hunting load, and shoot it from field positions to learn how it handles.

This rifle is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer of your choice for the background check and transfer.
