Straightforward is a good word for this Browning X-Bolt. It is a bolt-action rifle in.308 Winchester with a 22-inch barrel, a 4-round magazine and a black finish, priced around twelve hundred dollars. No fancy camo, no wood: a plain working rifle.

The.308 is one of the most common cartridges in America, so you can find ammunition in nearly every sporting goods store and in many different loads. It handles whitetail, hogs and black bear within sensible ranges, and it stays accurate on the range as well. Recoil is moderate and easy to manage.

Browning's X-Bolt is known for a smooth bolt and a crisp trigger. A 22-inch barrel balances handling and velocity, and it carries well in thick woods as well as open fields. The black synthetic look sheds water and does not show scratches.

Put a good scope on it and sight in at one hundred yards. If you hunt around the Piedmont, the rifle has all the power you need. Wipe the bolt and bore after wet days and clean it every few hundred rounds. This rifle is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer of your choice for the background check and transfer.
