Browning calls its upper-tier finish White Gold, and the Medallion features better wood and finish than the plain Hunter. This X-Bolt 2 is chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and finished in gray. It is a rifle for someone who likes nice things.

The 6.5 Creedmoor is popular because it shoots flat, resists wind, and has mild recoil. It works well on whitetail and is easy on the shoulder, which makes it a good choice for long hunts. In North Carolina, it is a fine rifle for open fields and power line cuts where shots can stretch. North Carolina hunts range from thick Piedmont cover to long mountain shots, so match your cartridge to where you hunt.

The gray finish is a change from the usual blued look. White Gold is Browning's name for the upper-tier trim, so expect nicer details than the plain Hunter.

The price places it at the premium end for a bolt-action hunting rifle.

If you want a showpiece that is also a working tool, it fits the bill. New. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for pickup and the background check.
