The 6.8 Western is one of the newer cartridges for hunters, designed to shoot flat and hit hard from a short-action rifle. This Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed is chambered in it and wears a Forest Shadow Cerakote finish that blends into wooded cover.

Cerakote is a tough coating that resists scratches and moisture. That makes it useful on a rifle that rides in trucks and climbs into stands. The X-Bolt 2 Speed line is Browning's value-minded version of its hunting bolt action, so you get the family handling at a lower price than the top-end Medallion models.

The 6.8 Western performs well on deer, hogs and larger game at long range, and the short action keeps the rifle compact. Ammo is not as plentiful as.308 or.30-06 yet, so it helps to buy a few boxes of the load you plan to hunt with. Sight it in and learn where it prints at one hundred and two hundred yards.

This rifle is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
