A .243 Winchester is one of the gentlest deer cartridges around, and Browning makes it nicer than most. This X-Bolt 2 Medallion is chambered in .243, finished in blue, and has a threaded barrel. Spend range time with it first.

The Medallion level gets better wood and checkering than the plain Hunter. The .243 shoots flat, kicks lightly, and is often chosen for youth hunters, women, and anyone who prefers lighter recoil. It handles whitetail well, as well as coyotes and other varmints. Take your time with trigger control, because a calm squeeze matters more than any feature on the rifle. It makes a good gift for a young hunter, provided an adult teaches safe handling first.

The threaded barrel lets you add a compatible muzzle device. Do your homework on thread pitch and the laws that apply to you.

Blued steel pairs well with wood and looks classic in the stand. Wipe it down in humid weather to keep rust away.

This is a premium bolt action that suits a hunter who wants a rifle to pass down. New. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for pickup and the background check.
