Maple stock, polished blue steel and a magnum bolt action. The Browning X-Bolt 2 Medallion Maple looks like the rifle a hunter saves for. It is chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum and priced above two thousand dollars, which tells you the finish and fit are meant to impress.

The 7mm Rem Mag is a trusted choice for long shots on elk, mule deer and other large game. It shoots flat and carries energy well downrange, and ammo is common in sporting goods stores. The polished blue finish takes care to maintain, so wipe it with an oil cloth after wet days.

The X-Bolt 2 improves on the original X-Bolt with refinements to the stock and the controls. The Medallion trim adds fine details that set it apart from a plain hunting rifle. Pair it with a quality scope and a rest, and give it a proper break-in at the range.

This rifle is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer of your choice for the background check and transfer. If your hunting stays in the Piedmont, a lighter cartridge will do the job too.
