Browning does not use the Grade II label lightly. On the X-Bolt 2 Hunter, it means upgraded wood and checkering over the plain walnut model. This one is chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum and finished in blue.
The .300 Win Mag is a long-range cartridge for big game. It is more than enough for deer, and a favorite for elk, moose, and bear. In North Carolina it is serious overkill for a typical whitetail hunt, so buy it for a western trip or for the pleasure of shooting a big magnum. Store it unloaded and locked up, and keep the bolt out or a lock on when children are around. Take it to the range with a few boxes of your preferred load and learn where it hits before opening day.
The X-Bolt 2 refined the original with improvements the maker states in its own literature, such as trigger and stock changes.
Magnums punish a poor stock fit, so go to the range and shoot it before a hunt. A good recoil pad helps, and a good scope matters more than anything else.
New condition. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for pickup and the background check.
