A folding stock turns a full-size shotgun into something you can stow behind a seat or in a closet. The Stoeger P3000 Tactical is a 12 gauge pump with a blue and black finish and exactly that kind of folding stock.

Pump shotguns are simple, and that is their strength. Pull the forend back, push it forward, and it runs. For home defense, a 12 gauge is a common choice for good reason, and a pump action is easy to learn and maintain without special training. Take a young or new shooter along and teach safe handling before the first shot. Store it unloaded and locked, and keep shells in a separate dry place. A few boxes of light target loads make an easy way to learn the gun before the season opens.

Stoeger is known for value pricing, so this gun costs less than a Mossberg or Remington of similar style.

Practice with it before you depend on it. Pattern your chosen load at the distance of your longest room, and make sure you are comfortable with the folding stock.

Listed new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for pickup and the background check.
