Value guns are easy to dismiss until one works for years. The Stoeger P3000 is a 12 gauge pump with a 3" chamber, a 26" barrel, and a 5+1 capacity, all in black.

At this price you get a pump shotgun that can serve for hunting, clays, and general use. A 26" barrel is a nice length for birds, and the 3" chamber accepts the common shells you find at any store. Five plus one means five in the tube and one in the chamber. Use the right shell for the job, and check your county and refuge rules before you head out for birds or deer.

The price is low, and the tradeoff is fit and finish that are plainer than a Mossberg or Remington. That does not mean it will not work. Run some ammunition through it before you rely on it for protection, and clean it well.

Pump guns are slower than semi-autos but simple and dependable. If you are building a collection or need a spare shotgun for a truck, a budget pump is an easy answer.
