A 20 gauge semi-auto that sells under seven hundred dollars is a gun worth a look if you hunt on a budget. The Stoeger M3020 has a 28-inch barrel, a 4-round capacity and a black synthetic stock. It is built for dove fields, quail woods and all-day walks.

The black synthetic stock does not mind rain or mud, which is a plus when you hunt creek bottoms in early season or sit in a wet blind. Twenty gauge shells kick softer than 12 gauge, and the semi-auto action tames the recoil further. That makes it a good choice for younger hunters or smaller adults.

A 28-inch barrel gives a smooth swing, and interchangeable chokes let you tighten or open the pattern. Clay target games are also a fine use for this gun. You will not mistake it for a high-end Italian shotgun, but it should serve well with regular cleaning. Run some practice rounds before the season so you know how it patterns.

This shotgun is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer of your choice for the background check and transfer.
