Ten rounds in the magazine and a slide ready for a red dot, all for under four hundred thirty dollars. This Stoeger STR-9 is built for buyers who live where capacity is limited by rule, or who just prefer a trim grip. It has a 4.17-inch barrel and a black finish.

Optic ready means a red dot can be added without milling the slide. Many shooters find a dot easier to use than iron sights, especially as eyes age. You do not have to start with a dot, since the standard sights remain on the slide.

The STR-9 is a striker-fired pistol with a plain, functional design. It does not claim to be a match pistol, but it has become a popular value pick. A 4.17-inch barrel suits home defense and range use, and it can be carried with a proper holster and belt.

Break it in with a couple hundred rounds, and confirm your ammunition feeds well. Check which optic plates fit the cut before buying a dot, as the pattern matters. Holsters are available from a handful of makers. This pistol is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
