Night sights and an optic-ready slide on a pistol under five hundred dollars is not something you see every week. The Stoeger STR-40 here is chambered in.40 S&W and comes with a 10-round magazine, which suits a state where many shooters like a simple, no-nonsense home or truck gun.

The night sights glow in low light, so you can find the front post after dark without batteries. The optic-ready cut means a red dot can go on later if you decide you want one. You do not have to buy that now, and the factory sights still work fine on their own.

The.40 S&W has a snappier push than a 9mm, so give yourself some range time before you trust it for carry. Most folks who shoot it well do it with a firm grip and a steady diet of practice ammo. Check that your holster fits this slide and sight combination before you buy one.

This pistol is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer where you complete the background check and pick it up. Carry permit holders should confirm local rules for where they plan to wear it.
