Springfield's XD-M has been a duty and competition favorite for years, and this version is set up for a red dot from day one. It is a black 9mm with a 4.5" threaded barrel, an Optical Sight Pistol slide, and a Venom sight.

The Venom is a compact red dot, and having it fitted means you do not need to find a plate or mill a slide. Learning to pick up a dot takes a little practice, but it pays off for accuracy at distance. The name also says Non-TB, which we take to mean the version without the thumb safety. Dry-fire practice, done safely with an empty and checked pistol, builds a clean trigger press for almost nothing. Magazines and holsters for popular pistols are easy to find, which keeps ownership simple.

The 4.5" barrel is full-size territory. It makes a steady range pistol and a good home defense option, and it offers a longer sight radius than a compact. The threads are for muzzle devices that are legal where you live.

New. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for pickup and the background check.
