Springfield Armory's XD line has been in holsters and range bags for a long time, and the XD Service is the plain, honest version. This one is a 9mm with a 4-inch barrel, a 10-round magazine and a black finish.

A 4-inch barrel is the classic duty and carry size: long enough for good accuracy, short enough to conceal with the right holster. The 10-round magazine suits shooters who want a capacity-limited pistol or live where the rules ask for it. The XD grip angle feels natural to many hands.

If you carry, try the pistol with the holster you plan to use and see how it rides. Run a few hundred rounds of your carry ammo to confirm it feeds. The XD design has a loyal fan base, and aftermarket support is strong, so sights and holsters are easy to find. Ask your dealer any questions about the box contents before the transfer. Take your time at pickup and look the gun over in good light before you sign.

This pistol is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
