Springfield's XD(M) Elite is the line meant for shooters who want a competition-minded feel from a duty-sized pistol. The OSP in the name stands for optic-sight pistol, so this model is cut for a red dot. It is a 9mm with a black Melonite finish on the slide.

Melonite is a hard coating that resists wear and rust, which is useful for a gun that sees hard use or carry. The Elite series usually adds a better trigger and grip texture over the base XD(M).

An optic-ready pistol in this class suits range days, matches and home defense. A red dot on a full-size pistol can help you shoot faster and keep your eyes on the target. Learn the dot on a slow line before you speed up. Practice finding it on the draw. At just over seven hundred dollars, it is priced fairly for an optic-ready, name-brand 9mm. Think about where it will live and how you will store it safely at home.

This pistol is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
