Ten millimeter has more punch than a 9mm, and a lot of woods hunters carry it for bear and hogs. The Springfield XD-M Elite OSP is a 10mm with a 4.5 inch barrel, a 16-round magazine and a HEX Dragonfly red dot already mounted, finished in black.

The 10mm Auto fires a heavier bullet at higher speed than 9mm or .45 ACP. Out in the mountains of western North Carolina where black bears roam, many hikers and hunters take one along as a trail gun. It is also a fun range pistol for those who like power, though the recoil is stiffer than a 9mm. Spend an afternoon at the range before the season so you know exactly where it shoots.

A Dragonfly optic gives you a clear dot to aim with from the first magazine, with no mounting to do. The OSP slide is cut for the red dot. The XD-M Elite has a grip texture and trigger tuned for control.

Practice with hot loads before relying on them. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer, where the background check is done at pickup.
