Compensated pistols are no longer just for competition. The Hellcat Pro Comp OSP carries a compensator on a 3.7" barrel, it is a 9mm that holds 17 rounds, and the finish is black. Bring a couple of boxes of ammunition and run it through its paces.

OSP means the slide is cut for a red dot. Clean it after each range trip and wipe the slide down in humid weather to keep the finish looking good.

The compensator vents gas upward to help keep the muzzle level during fast strings of fire. That can make follow-up shots quicker, and it can reduce felt recoil. A compensated slide may need a holster designed for it, so look for one before you take delivery.

Seventeen rounds from a pistol this size is a lot of ammunition. That is the main appeal of the Hellcat line compared with older micro-compacts.

Use it for the range, home defense, or as a carry gun if you are comfortable with its size. Practice with the dot sight to get comfortable with it.

New. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for pickup and the background check.
