Springfield's Firstline line is a program with discounted pricing for first responders. This Hellcat Pro Compact OSP is a 9mm with a 3.7-inch barrel and a 15-round capacity in black, priced near seven hundred thirty-nine dollars. If you are a buyer of any kind, it still gives you a feature-rich carry gun for the price.

The Hellcat Pro sits between the micro-compact Hellcat and a full-size pistol. The extra size gives it more capacity and a longer grip for control, and the OSP slide cut lets you mount a red dot. A 3.7-inch barrel is a good carry length for permit holders in Charlotte or Raleigh, who need to hide a pistol under a shirt.

Confirm with your dealer what comes in the box, including magazines. Pick a holster made for the optic-ready Hellcat Pro, and check that the optic you choose matches the cut on the slide.

Run a few hundred rounds with your carry load and practice your draw. The pistol is common enough that accessories are not hard to find. This pistol is new. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for the background check and transfer.
