Colorful finishes are not just for show; they can make your pistol easier to find in a range bag. The SIG Sauer P365X in Typhoon is a 9mm with a 3.1" barrel and a 12-round magazine.

The P365X sits in the middle of the P365 family. It takes the micro-compact frame and gives it a slightly longer grip for more capacity and better control. For a permit holder, twelve rounds in a pistol this small is a strong selling point. A 3.1" barrel conceals well under a shirt, and the longer grip helps you hold on in rapid fire. Spend time with the controls at home with the pistol unloaded and checked, so the draw and grip feel natural before you go to the range.

Typhoon is a color name, a bold shade that stands out. It does not change the way the pistol shoots.

Practice matters more than any feature. Take it to the range and run it with the ammunition you plan to carry.
