Compact carry pistols from Slovenia have not had much attention in the States, and the Arex Zero 1 CP is worth a second look. It has a 3.8" barrel and a black finish, with a magazine listed at 2-15 rounds.

A 3.8" barrel is a good length for carry. It conceals better than a full-size, and it gives you a more stable sight picture than a pocket pistol. Arex pistols have a reputation for good ergonomics. Many North Carolina permit holders spend more on training than on the gun, and that is money well spent. Store it unloaded and locked when it is not on your body, especially if there are children in the house. Plan on a few hundred rounds of practice before you count on any new pistol for protection.

For a North Carolina permit holder who wants something different from the usual Glock-style carry gun, this is a sound alternative. Handle it at your dealer if you can, since hand fit matters.

Whichever pistol you choose, buy quality ammunition and shoot it often.

New condition. It ships to a North Carolina FFL dealer for pickup and the background check.
